Lindsay Lohan Hit With a Tax Lien
Actress Lindsay Lohan has encountered some new legal troubles, but this time it’s with the Internal Revenue Service.
The IRS placed a tax lien on Lohan’s house in Encino, Calif., because of her failure to pay taxes in 2009. The troubled actress owes $93,701.57, in back taxes and penalties according to the lien, MSN money reported.
Lohan, 25, has been facing a slew of legal and financial troubles over the past few years. She has had several stints in rehab since 2007, and spent time in prison for DUI charges and violating probation.
Lohan also plead no contest to misdemeanor theft in May 2011 for shoplifting a gold necklace. She was sentenced to community service and 120 days in prison, but was placed on house arrest due to prison overcrowding.
Lohan recently completed community service at the Los Angeles County morgue for the misdemeanor theft and probation violation charges.
Sources close to the “Mean Girls” actress told TMZ she did not know she owed the IRS and would pay it back as soon as she could. Lohan recently changed her management team and her finances must have been lost in the switch, the sources added.
This week, Lohan was also sued by a photographer who claimed he was hit by a car she was riding in.
Lohan's business manager refused to comment, MSN money reported.
