Lindsay Lohan in Further Controversy: $1M Offer to Appear in Porno Mag Playboy
Lindsay Lohan is set to stoke further controversy as reports state that she may be doing a nude pictorial spread in pornographic magazine Playboy for a reported $1 million, according to TMZ.
Lohan will be joining a long list of entertainers who have controversially appeared in the pornographic magazine, including Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Heidi Montag, and Olivia Munn.
Lohan's career has been in a downward spiral for many years, according to news reports. Lohan may need the $1 million due to recent legal fees, or she could simply be another victim of the media's “hyper sexualized” perception of entertainers.
Lohan’s first nude pictorial featured in a magazine was in 2008. The entertainer went blonde and did a series of photographs appearing as Marilyn Monroe for the spread.
The University of Buffalo studied Rolling Stone magazine covers from 1970 to 2000, and rated the sexuality of the issues.
Considering a number of factors, such as pose, act, suggestions, and clothing, the study concluded the “sexualization” of women has gone from 6 to 61 percent, while men went from 11 to 17 percent.
The men behind the research, Erin Hatton and Mary Nell Trautner, told the Sexuality and Culture Journal that there is a, “dramatic increase in hyper sexualized images of women...Such images, show female actors and musicians as ready and available for sex."
Actor David Schwimmer told a London newspaper in July that the public has a “real emphasis on how important it is to look young and sexual.
“So that’s the message we’re sending our girls,” said the actor. “Look at the biggest pop stars around at the moment: Everything they do is about sex.”
Rihanna’s sexuality caused a Minster farmer in Ireland to lash out on the set of her music video, "We Found Love," in July. The minister farmer reportedly kicked the musician off his property for being nude or barely clothed.
Fans slammed the minister farmer for his actions. Rihanna responded to the frenzy with a tweet on her Twitter account: “I’m a 23-year-old rockstar with NO KIDS! What’s up with everybody wanting me to be a parent? I’m just a girl, I can only be your/our voice!”
"Your/our voice" is the part of the quote that has many parents’ worried in a world where sexualized women represent the favorite majority.
Lindsay Lohan is possibly entering the “hyper sexualized” realm in hopes of resurrecting her career. Sources told TMZ that the Playboy deal has been in the works for a few months.
Lohan was reportedly offered $750,000, but she wants more money. Lohan's representative could not confirm or deny any details. An official statement from Playboy has yet to be released, as well.
The performer started court ordered community service this past weekend at a Las Angeles morgue, but sources close to the entertainer told TMZ she also began shooting the Playboy pictorial last weekend.
TMZ said Lohan is on sheet washing duty at the morgue, and was startled the first time she saw the linens soiled with blood and fluid stains. She was also reportedly shocked at the first site of a corpse, so she was moved to toilet duty.
