Lindsay Lohan, Matt Nordgren Split; Work Schedules to Blame?
Lindsay Lohan and Mat Nordgren have reportedly split due to busy work scheduled, various reports claim.
The pair, whose relationship made headlines in mid September, reportedly reconnected after several months during New York fashion week however source claims they are no longer romantically involved. The former NFL star, 30, reportedly helped the troubled actress, 27, stay sober following her latest stint in rehab.
"Their work schedules and the distance just make dating impossible," a source told Us magazine. "He really likes and respects her. He thinks she is back on top, emotionally and physically."
Lohan reportedly met the reality TV star seven years ago through mutual friends in Los Angeles and despite their recent split, Nordgren is said to be offering support following the actress' court-ordered stint in rehab. The "Mean Girls" star is said to be in better health after facing a years-long battle with drugs and alcohol.
"He's older, a successful businessman, and he has been a great friend to her," a source said prior to their split. "He's also a Christian and won't drink around her. He's trying to keep her sober and on the straight and narrow. He's really good for her."
Nordgren, who has starred in the Bravo TV reality show, "Most Eligible Dallas," recently spoke candidly about his friendship with Lohan. He revealed that after years of hard partying and the issues surrounding her personal life, the actress is finally getting her life together.
"We've hung out. But I have been a friend trying to support her for many years now," Nordgren told the New York Post's Page Six.
"She's completely sober for months now," he revealed. "She's in a great place, she's thinking clear and working hard and meeting with all the right people."
Lohan previously opened up about her alcohol addiction in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. The former child star admitted to dabbling in cocaine but insists she now lives a more healthy lifestyle.
"As long as I stay honest with myself and just do the work that I am willing to do, and have been willing to do and am doing, there's nothing that can stand in the way of that," Lohan told Winfrey. "I'm my own worst enemy and I know that."
