Lindsay Lohan on Hurricane Sally: 'Stop Projecting Negativity' About Storm Says Star
Lindsay Lohan has offered a piece of advice about Hurricane Sally. According to her, it is no reason to "panic."
Thus far, over 450,000 people in New York have been left without electricity and a total of 16 deaths in the United States have been attributed to the storm, which hit Monday night. But according to Lindsay Lohan, who was considering a move to New York city recently, there is no reason to panic.
"WHY is everyone in SUCH a panic about hurricane (i'm calling it Sally)..? Stop projecting negativity!" the star posted on her Twitter account. Instead she recommended that everyone should, "Think positive and pray for peace."
Other celebrities also chimed in on Twitter, sharing prayers and concerns for those who have been afflicted by the storm.
"All my friends from NYC are sending me pics of this storm. Praying for everyone on the East Coast! I hope everyone is safe!" Kim Kardashian wrote on her Twitter.
"I'm gonna say my prayers and go to sleep. Thinking of you all," Lady Gaga added.
Lohan later decided to rename the hurricane once again, this time calling it Hurricane Sassy.
The storm left a total of 6.2 million people without power across the East Coast.
Of the 16 deaths that have been reported, five were in New York, three each in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, two in Connecticut, and one each in Maryland, North Carolina and West Virginia; three of the victims were children according to USA Today.
A number of bridges were shut down in New York City including the Verrazano and Brooklyn Bridge. In addition, the Holland Tunnel and many MTA trains were flooded. The water in some areas was reported to be chest high.
As of Tuesday, Hurricane Sandy was downgraded to a tropical storm and is expected to settle within the next 48 hours.
