Lindsay Lohan Publicist Quits Following Domestic Brawl

Lindsay Lohan's publicist resigned on Wednesday after working with the actress for almost two years, it has been revealed.

Steve Honig, who was regularly forced to explain various legal matters and domestic incidents involving Lohan on her behalf, did not go into detail about his abrupt departure.

"I'm not discussing this out of respect for my client," Honig told E! when asked to detail the reason for his resignation.

Honig's resignation has raised more concerns about Lohan's well being. The 26-year-old, who was infamously embroiled in a violent brawl with her mother Dina, may be on a downward spiral.

Honig's departure comes just two weeks after the bizarre incident, which reportedly left Lohan with minor injuries. The "Mean Girls" star reportedly went to a New York city nightclub with Dina, 50, before heading to her mother's Long Island home where the fight allegedly broke out.

Police were called to the scene, although it is still unclear who exactly placed the 911 call. The incident is still being investigated.

Less than one month before the violent brawl, Dina took part in her ill-fated Dr. Phil interview in which the mother of four appeared to be intoxicated. Despite consistently displaying odd and erratic behavior throughout the candid interview, Dina insisted that she was not under the influence.

"I don't care what it looks like. I'm fine and I don't care what anyone says. All people saw was two minutes edited of an hour long interview," Dina reportedly told TMZ.com.

Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, has openly condemned Dina's parenting methods and at times has accused his ex-wife of drug use. He too has had his fair share of problems over the past year and in October 2011, was arrested for domestic violence.

Lohan, whose parents have blamed for her ongoing struggles, has allegedly been in court at least 19 times since being arrested in 2007. Additionally, she has spent at least 250 days in rehab, 35 days in home confinement, has completed 67 days of community service, spent 19 days in court and has made six trips to jail, according to CNN.
