Linkin Park App for Smart TV to Connect Fans (VIDEO)
Linkin Park announced a new application for Smart TVs allowing fans to watch video, behind-the-scenes footage, studio sessions and concerts whenever they desire.
The app will be available for Smart TVs by LG, Samsung, Vizio, Sanyo, Western Digital, Insignia, and Flingo will release it.
Flingo is available on 7.2 million television sets worldwide. It allows users to base what they watch around themes rather than just watching regular channels.
"It’s basically everything a Linkin Park fan would want to see,” said Flingo CEO Ashwin Navin.
Linkin Park DJ Joe Hahn said the app would have ideal image and sound quality. Moreover, it would allow the band greater communication with fans.
“Flingo provides us with a new way to connect with our fans and give them immediate access to our videos. With our app available in the newest Internet Connected HD TVs, we know our videos are going to look great and sound amazing. Plus, the app gives us total creative control over the format and frequency of which we can reach viewers and listeners, an uncommon luxury for most musicians today,” said Hahn in a press release.
Alvir Navin, cofounder of Flingo, said he is excited to launch the app with the Grammy-award winning band.
"As a musician myself, I am always looking for ways that artists can bring their creativity to large audiences directly. Linkin Park is one of the biggest rock bands of all time, so people are going to love 24 hour access to the band's latest news and videos in the convenience of their TV with all the sound fidelity of a home theater environment," said Navin in a press release.
Linkin Park has close to 740 million views on its YouTube channel and more than 620 thousand Twitter followers.
