Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo targeted by Paris Saint-Germain

Both stars are considered the best footballers in the world.

According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain is certainly planning to go big in the coming years, with its intention of signing two big names next summer.

The Ligue 1 outfit quickly shot to the elite after spending big money to sign current stars such as Thiago Silva, Edinson Cavani and David Luiz.

One of the most popular football stars, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, currently plies his trade in the nation's capital and has helped the team win multiple titles.

And in the most recent summer, PSG managed to acquire Angel Di Maria from Manchester United – adding another star ot its long list of players.

Now, sources have cited that the football club is out to get two of the most popular and arguably best players on the planet in Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Le Parisien writer Severac Dominique recently revealed that the club will try an outrageous bid in the coming summer to land BOTH La Liga superstars.

Furthermore, he went on to claim that if they fail to sign the two, then they have perfect players as back-up choices – Barcelona striker Neymar and Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.

According to the journalist, he claimed: "I'm not inventing anything if I say PSG will again try to sign Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo next season, with Neymar and Aguero as plan B."

And while these claims may be next to impossible given the Financial Fair Play rules involved and the possible fines that PSG may incur by trying to build a super team with both Messi and Ronaldo in the same team, it should be interesting how the club will approach the attempt after this season.

It is understood that Ibrahimovic is set to leave the club either some time this season or the next and they are looking for replacements to fill the void the enigmatic Swede will leave.

And if PSG lands even just one of the two players, then it should be more than enough to move forward.
