LMFAO Lawsuit for $7 Million: Former Manager Says Band Deserted Them (VIDEO)
A former management company has slapped LMFAO with a $7 million lawsuit.
LMFA performed on "American Idol" Thursday night, which ended in the surprising elimination of one of the competition's top seeded singers, Colton Dixon. However, just before the band made their way to the American Idol studio, band mate RedFoo was handed a $7 million lawsuit.
The band mate seemed to take the lawsuit in stride, and even posed for pictures before heading into the studio. LMFAO is an American electro-pop duo that has risen to instant fame in the past year. While the duo was formed in 2006, it was not until "Party Rock Anthem" was released in 2011 that the band saw international success.
Now the band's former management company has come forward and suggested that it was responsible for bringing the band to international fame.
"The management company is suing for breach of contract ... claiming it took LMFAO's career "from 0 to 60" ... only to be kicked to the curb when the big bucks started rolling in," TMZ reported.
The company name is Rpm Grp, and signed the band on in 2008. The suit also files complaints about the band members interfering with management and alleges that both band mates "poached" company employees and offered them a salary.
"Okay the managment company that brought LMFAO to the public shouldn't get rewarded for it. Hope the lawsuit goes nowhere," Bridget wrote on the TMZ blog.
"Wow they are such jokes and embarrassment to every producer making dance music. They have ghost producers, smh these guys a lame," dskowulf added.
The band performed "Sorry for Party Rocking" on the American Idol stage Tuesday night.
