Lolo Jones Dishes Love Advice for Singles; 'Rely on God'
Lolo Jones, the 32-year-old Christian hurdler and bobsled athlete, recently decided to share Godly relationship advice to encourage people who are single.
"Singles! don't be frustrated if a man or woman sends u mixed signals," she tweeted. "Rely on God, for in Him it is always YES. #jesuslovesyou 2Cor1:17-19."
Jones has never shied away from speaking about her relationships in the past.
"My prayers have been on hope lately. The last few years without me knowing I began to lose hope that God answered my prayers. I continued to worship and love Him but I tried to do things in my own strength," she shared on her Facebook page last month. "That exhausted me. It broke me. Especially with the taunts of social media always reminding me of things I lacked. A gold medal, a husband, etc etc... But If I never get what I want, I have committed my life to you Lord."
While the Christian hurdler has admitted to being a virgin, she also said it has been hard to find a man that can handle her decision to remain celibate until marriage.
In an interview with the "Today" show in 2012, the hurdler admitted that waiting to have sex until marriage is one of the hardest decisions that she has ever made.
"It's just something, a gift that I want to give to my husband. But please understand this journey has been hard. If there's virgins out there, I just want to let them know, it's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life," Jones admitted. "Harder than training for the Olympics, harder than graduating from college, has been to stay a virgin before marriage."
Two years ago, reports romantically linked Jones to Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. The pair were spotted supporting one another in a number of their athletic endeavors.
Suh was spotted appearing with Jones at the Drake Relays in Iowa two years ago, according to USA Today reports. Still, the Olympic hurdler decided to dispel rumors in an ESPN report previously.
"We are not currently dating," Jones said in the 2012 ESPN report. "However, if the Lions win the Super Bowl and he wants to use the ring to propose to me, then we'll see."
