Los Angeles Clippers Guard Miloš Teodosić Out Indefinitely With Plantar Fascia Injury

The Los Angeles Clippers were quite fortunate to get a pass-first guard like Miloš Teodosić after they traded Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets, but they would have to make do without him for the time being because he's currently dealing with a plantar fascia injury in his left foot.

The Clippers have announced that Teodosić sustained the injury after he stepped on the foot of guard Devin Booker in the second quarter their 130–88 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night at the Staples Center. The Serbian guard is going to be out indefinitely.

"He doesn't go down like that, so my first thought was something really bad," Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said of Teodosic, via the Orange County Register. "That's not Milos. Milos plays through about everything, so I was thinking about a lot of stuff.

Teodosić started in each of the Clippers' first two games of the season at point guard and he averaged 5.5 points and 4.0 assists while playing 16 minutes per game. His numbers aren't that impressive, but his playmaking ability is elite and he's going to be hard to replace. Fortunately, the Clippers have some depth at the guard positions.

Austin Rivers will likely get the start while Teodosić is sidelined. Defensive stalwart Patrick Beverley and sixth man Lou Williams should see an increase in workload as well. Rookie guards Jawun Evans and Sindarius Thornwell may also get the chance to play extended minutes.

"We've been in this position before," Blake Griffin said after the game on Saturday. "It's next man up. We have to keep moving," he added.

"I think we have some of the best trainers in the league, so I'm pretty sure (Teodosic) is going to come back healed up as soon as possible. But between then, we gotta hold down the fort without him," Beverley said, according to ESPN.
