In what could possibly be a matchup in the first round of the playoffs, the Memphis Grizzlies go up against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center in the National Basketball Association.

Both teams have already clinched their spots in the playoffs but the Grizzlies are still battling for positioning with only two games left in their calendar.

At the moment, the Grizzlies are sixth in the West with a 42-38 record as they are half a game behind the Portland Trail Blazers who have already played 81 games.
If the season ends and the Grizzlies stay stuck at sixth, they go up against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs.
However, if they manage to climb one spot and take the fifth seed, then a series against the Clippers is on the horizon.
Memphis definitely have the arsenal to do so, despite missing key players like Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, the Grizzlies have stayed afloat with excellent play from Zach Randolph and Matt Barnes.
Players have stepped up in order to help the team and while they are a few players shy of being elite, they are still a very solid group who have great chemistry on the court.
It will be a tough task against the Clippers as Lob City have all their weapons back at their disposal.
Blake Griffin is getting steady minutes and will be ready for the playoffs while DeAndre Jordan, Chris Paul and the rest of the Clippers are also gearing up for a post season run.
The Clippers are 2.5 games behind the Thunder at the moment and with only two games remaining in their calendar, it appears they have the fourth place locked up. They must still try and go for the win to get their momentum heading into the playoffs.
