Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas had no love for HBO's deviantly hedonistic vampire show "True Blood" last Tuesday after the show mocked him and Texas Republicans as "a**holes" and "c*nts" then showed them being murdered mercilessly in a politically loaded episode wryly titled "Lost Cause".

The offensive July 20 episode of "True Blood" highlighted scenes depicted by the characters Eric Northman and Pam De Beaufort who are forced to attend a fictional gala for Sen. Cruz at the George W. Bush Presidential Library in search of a girl responsible for a vampire-killing disease.

As the vampires discuss plans to snatch the girl from the gala, another vampire and the girl's sister Amber Newlin tells them: "Security is going to be tight, and they only invite a**holes."

Northman however tells her: "You don't know us, sweetheart. We can be a**holes."

As Northman and De Beaufort get dressed for the gala in a hotel room, De Beaufort looks in a mirror and declares, "Oh my God, I am a Republic*nt."

Later on, as they enter the gala, De Beaufort scoffs at the gathering and declares it the "most disturbing" thing she has witnessed "of all the horrible things I've seen in the past 100 years."

Sen. Cruz did not take kindly to the stab and responded to the show in a similarly wry manner.

"Of all the places I never thought to be mentioned, HBO's True Blood vampire show would have to be near the top of the list. Sunday night (July 20), they aired a misogynist and profanity-ridden episode where Texas Republicans are murdered attending a 'Ted Cruz fundraiser'," he noted on his Facebook page last Tuesday.

"Well, I'm sorry to have lost the vampire vote, but am astonished (and amused) that HBO is suggesting that hard-core leftists are blood-sucking fiends…," he ended.
