Manchester United Transfer News: Van Gaal Wants Cristiano Ronaldo From Real Madrid
Manchester United's boss Louis Van Gaal has confirmed his interest in getting back Portuguese player, Cristiano Ronaldo, back from Real Madrid. Although Real is unlikely to strike a deal with United, the possibility still exists as long as Ronaldo himself agrees to the terms - if there would be any.
Ronaldo left the Old Trafford club for the Bernabéu in 2009 for a record-breaking £80 million. However, according to some rumors he has been becoming disillusioned over the recent weeks with the club president Florentino Perez' decision to sell off Angel di Maria over to Manchester for £59.7 million. The tension between the two is still tight, especially after Perez decided to sell off Maria to Manchester United.
Real Madrid, however, is unlikely to accept any offer that's less than what they paid Manchester for Ronaldo though Van Gaal is confident he can bring the player back to United.
Even though Van Gaal was confident about bringing Ronaldo back, he still admits that Real would be unlikely to accept any kind of deal from United.
Real Madrid had trouble acquiring Ronaldo due to his steep price tag but despite their financial problems, the club still managed to acquire two younger players, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez.
Bale and Rodriguez are rising stars in the football world and Real's move to purchase these two could lead to the club selling Ronaldo sometime in the future.
