The Louisville Cardinals looked efficient in their second round win against North Carolina AT&T to get through to the third round, and they will be looking to continue that good form today against No. 8 seeded Colorado State at the Rupp Arena in Lexington.
The Cardinals wiped the court with the Aggies on Thursday winning by 79-48, with guard Russ Smith scoring 23 points, and Peyton Siva gaining eight assists.
In addition Wayne Blackshear contributed with a good game where he scored 12 points and claimed five rebounds and four steals. Louisville were all over the Aggies and took them for 25 turnovers, allowing their win to be even more comprehensive.
That victory means Louisville enter this game with 11 straight wins, and they will be big favorites to knock out Colorado State today.
Meanwhile, Colorado State will not see themselves as here to just make up numbers, and they will be looking to claim a big scalp in taking down the No. 1 seeded team.
Dorian Green will be looking to lead the way and he managed to score 26 points in the Rams' 84-72 win against Missouri in the second round. The nature of that win should not be underestimated, and Colorado did well to make the win so comfortable in what could have been a very tough match up.
