Louisville vs Michigan takes place in the NCAA 2013 Championship Game on Monday night as March Madness college basketball comes to an exciting climax.

No. 1 seeded Louisville were one of the pre-tournament favorites and they have lived up to their billing until now. They will face off against No. 4 seeded Michigan, who managed to break Syracuse hearts on Saturday night in a closely fought victory over their orange rivals.

The Cardinals easily ran through the Midwest Region, winning their games by an average of a massive 22 points.

They suffered the dramatic and horrific loss of guard Kevin Ware as they took on Duke, but recovered from that set back to make their way through to the Final Four.

They were given a severe test against No. 9 seeded Wichita State on Saturday, and at one point it looked like the underdogs were about to claim their biggest scalp and make it through to the Championship Game. However, Louisville showed their character and stole the game away towards the end in an exciting 72-68 victory.

Now just Michigan stand in Louisville's way in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, and they wil make sure it won't be easy for the Cardinals to win their first title since 1986.

The Wolverines have also had a hugely impressive NCAA tournament, defeating some very talented teams including Kansas, Florida and Syracuse.

Michigan are trying to win their first title in 24 years.

Michigan will have to give the performance of the season to take down a Louisville team that has not lost since February 9, and have destroyed many team along the way.

Both teams have stand out star players and have two of the best guards in college basketball this season.

Russ Smith is averaging 18.9 points per game for Louisville, while Trey Burke leads Michigan at 18.5. Burke has won multiple national player of the year awards after leading the club in points, assists and steals.
