LPEA Friendship Evangelism Rocks Twin Cities

One of the largest – and loudest – Friendship Evangelism events ever staged by LPEA rocked Emmanuel Christian Center in Minneapolis this past weekend as over 2,200 attendees heard from some of Christianity’s most gifted teachers about how to share their faith.

“The response to Mark, Rickey, Joel and Stephen was amazing,” said festival director Doug Terpening. “The audience was cheering, laughing and praying together the whole day.”

Friendship Evangelism training is a vital part of a Luis Palau festival as it prepares believers to talk to and invite their un-churched friends and family to the festival. This year, the gifted “tag team” duo of Mark Mittelberg (author of “Becoming A Contagious Christian”) and Rickey Bolden (NFL Chaplain and former player) brought the dynamic “Contagious Christian” program, along with worship leader Joel Hanson (former lead singer of PFR) and actor Stephen Baldwin, whose testimony of coming to Christ in Hollywood was compelling.

Baldwin recently finished directing a new project for PalauFest Productions called “Livin’ It,” a cutting-edge sports action DVD featuring Christian athletes in the “core sports” of skateboarding and BMX. He made a number of appearances through the weekend, including a stop at the Twin Cities's legendary Club 3 Degrees Christian nightclub.

The Twin Cities Festival promises to be one of the largest Christian events ever held in the Midwest, with some of the top Christian musicians (Point of Grace, TobyMac, Stacie Orrico, Casting Crowns, Mary Mary, Jump 5) joining world evangelist and author Luis Palau August 7th and 8th on the steps of the State Capitol for two days of “Great music & Good News.”

Their next event, “Counselor Training,” designed to equip Christians to assist new believers who make a decision for Christ during festival week. Training sessions run from July 6th through the 18th. Further information can be found on their website: www.twincitiesfestival.org.
