'Lucifer' Season 2: Lucifer Becomes Untraceable in Episode 14

Due to scheduling reasons, FOX has decided to bank the final four episodes of "Lucifer" season 2 for season 3. This cut reportedly does not impact the size of next season, which will retain the 22-episode order.

According to reports, the decision to carry over the final four episodes to season 3 was foreshadowed by the network's recently unveiled summer schedule and premiere dates, which included a two-hour "So You Think You Can Dance" airing on Mondays starting June 12. On the other hand, "Lucifer" season 2 will return on May 1 and air five of its remaining nine original episodes until its season finale on May 29.

"Lucifer" executive producer Joe Henderson recently shared on Twitter that episode 18 will provide a closure to the series. He explained that they had to design the current season to be an 18-episode arc because the series was originally supposed to have 18 episodes.

"But then we got 4 more! Surprise! So we decided to create four episodes that let us play around a bit. Dig deeper into the character stories, play with format a bit, etc." he said.

According to Henderson, although the four episodes stand on their own, they also pick up plots that they had already introduced earlier in the series and bring in new stuff that they will play around with in season 3.

In a previous interview, co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich revealed that the four episodes are considered standalone installments. She also revealed that one of these episodes will feature a flashback to the first time the Devil (Tom Ellis) came to Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, "Lucifer" season 2, episode 14 is titled "Candy Morningstar" and will air on May 1 on FOX. It will follow Lucifer as he decides to take off and become untraceable after what happened to Chloe (Lauren German). However, a murder case involving a guitarist will force him to come out.
