"Luke Cage" Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Storyline follows "Hero for Hire"

Marvel has already a steady foundation for its cinematic universe. Right now they are already in the third phase of their films, however, as for their television take over, they are still comparatively behind DC. So far, "Daredevil" that the only one they've released so far, shown under the online streaming company, Netflix. However, they plan to change all of this as "Jessica Jones" is all set to air later this year followed by "Luke Cage" next year.

Not much is really known about "Luke Cage" for now, however once production starts in two months, more can be expected. This will be the third of the four planned Marvel series, all set in New York as a continuation for what "Daredevil" has started earlier this year. Fans will first get to see Luke Cage, played by Mike Colter, in "Jessica Jones".

In the comics, Cage is the husband of Jones and though it won't immediately start off like that, the possibility is that he will become a love interest for the Jones.

According to Screenrant, Luke Cage's appearance on "Jessica Jones" will be soon followed by his own show, which will also star Alfre Woodard (12 years a Slave) as Mariah Dollard, Mahershala Ali (House of Cards) as Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Frankie Faison (Banshee) who's role is still unconfirmed.

The rumored plot of "Luke Cage" is said to follow his backstory about a man wrongfully imprisoned and forced to undergo secret experiments that leave him with bulletproof skin and super strength. After his release from prison, Cage tries to starts anew in Harlem, but his past soon catches up with him and makes him a hero for hire and a defender of the people.

After "Luke Cage", "Iron Fist" is expected next and soon the four series will be ready for a hug crossover that is "The Defenders" which is not yet set. "Luke Cage" is scheduled for release in 2016 and as all Marvel releases, it is expected to be received well.
