'Luke Cage' Spoilers: Series To Pick Up From Where 'Jessica Jones' Left, Mike Colter Talks About His Character
The upcoming American web television series "Luke Cage" is the talk of the town now after the character's appearance in Netflix's other Marvel series, "Jessica Jones." According to Latinos Post, the relationship that Luke (Mike Colter) shared with Jessica (Krysten Ritter) during the first season has fans asking for more.
Fortunately, it won't be long until fans see Colter play out the role of being the superhero with unbreakable skin, super strength and speedy recovery time. As reported in Comic Book Resource, Colter revealed that the first few episodes of "Luke Cage" will be covering the events that happened during the last few episodes of "Jessica Jones."
The last episode of the female-starrer show ended with Kilgrave dead and Jessica Jones now famous. Luke was under mind-control and instructed to destroy his bar. He also has to deal with the fact that it was Jessica who killed his wife. But things are about to get complicated as before the season finale closed, Jessica confessed her true feelings for Luke. With everything that has happened, Luke will need to be face his own demons.
Colter spoke to Vulture and revealed that fans will be learning more about his character and where he came from.
"It's not a total departure from where we were with the 'Jessica Jones' series, but it is more about him as a person. He's growing into himself and trying to figure out who he is as a superhero. Once he learns who he is, he will be able to use his powers and give back," said Colter.
Not much is revealed with how the series will play out but it's speculated that Luke's best friend from the comics, Iron Fist, will be making an appearance. Jessica Jones is also expected to appear as well.
"Luke Cage" is scheduled to premiere in 2016 on Netflix.
