Lumia 950 & 950XL Review: A High-Spec Windows 10 Smartphone with Quality Camera Features

It won't be long before people will finally meet Microsoft's brand new smartphones dubbed as Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. It's been a long wait for Lumia fans as the last time the company launched a smartphone was in April 2014. But now that the two new devices are coming, many can't wait to get their hands on it.

According to a report by Digital Trends, the upcoming devices sports flagship specs, excellent camera quality and of course, the latest Windows 10 OS. But the question is still there: are the Lumia 950 and 950XL mobiles great enough to convince Android and iPhone users to make a switch? Everyone knows that Windows phones do not do so well in the tough competition of the tech world. Nevertheless, Microsoft is hoping that the comeback devices of the Nokia Lumia series will be its ladder to the top.

It's not far from happening though considering the high-end specs and features attached to it. The Windows Club detailed that the biggest feature of both the Lumia smartphones is its Window 10 Mobile OS. Through it, users will be able to experience Windows at the palm of their hands. They will be able to use features like the Office apps, Outlook Mail and the brand new Windows Store where they can search for apps, videos, music and others.

And the Windows experience doesn't stop with the OS as the smartphone can be turned into a full-fledged computer with the help of a puck-sized Display Dock. Through this awesome feature, the user can connect peripherals like a monitor, USB mouse and a keyboard.

With regards to its specs, the Lumia 950 and 950XL are described by Gizmodo of having a spec sheet dream. "Seriously, the new Lumias have it all," as written in the source. "The only thing you could knock the Lumia for is it has no water-proof or dust-proof protection."

The devices, which are light in weight, features Quad HD screens with resolutions of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels. The 950 sports a 5.2-inch screen while the XL has a 5.7-inch screen with Snapdragon 808 and 810 processors respectively. The devices also carry excellent and quality cameras through Nokia's PureView technology. It produces photos that are very high in details and it's all because of its 20MP sensor, Zeiss optics, OIS and triple LED natural flash.
