Lupita Nyong'o and K'Naan Dating: Actress and Somali Rapper Secretly Meeting Since September? (PHOTO)
Lupita Nyong'o and K'Naan are dating and have been since September, according to reports. The "12 Years A Slave" actress and Somali rapper have a lot in common concerning issues important to Africa, but the famous pair is still deciding to take it slow.
Lupita Nyong'o and K'Naan were spotted together earlier this month holding each other closely, and photos were published on various media outlets of their rendezvous. Nyong'o had been on "Live! With Kelly and Michael" after winning an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress and the rapper, whose real name is Keinan Abdi Warsame, was seemingly there for support.
"She loves his humanitarianism," an insider close to the "Wavin' Flag" rapper told Us Weekly. "They're both passionate about African issues."

K'Naan, 36, has a well-documented history of supporting causes like the East African drought and medical assistance for the less fortunate in Africa. Some critics find his support of Somali pirates controversial, though.
"Our pirates were the only deterrent we had from an externally imposed environmental disaster," the rapper previously said, referring to companies that would dump toxic waste by Somalian coasts. "One man's pirate is another man's coast guard."
K'Naan's passion is matched by 31-year-old Nyong'o of Kenya, who famously said during her Oscars speech that "no matter where you're from, your dreams are valid."
The alleged couple seems to have a fair amount in common, but they are reportedly taking it slow: Nyong'o hasn't met K'Naan's two children by his ex-wife, Deqa Warsame.
The photos surfacing has seemingly put to rest the rumors about Nyong'o and Jared Leto. The actor joked at the Academy Awards that the actress was his "future ex-wife," and since then, many outlets pointed to their time spent together as proof of a budding relationship.
