MacBook 2016 Will Have New, Slimmer Design
Chinese suppliers Sunwoda Electronics and Desay, both of which are battery manufacturers for the latest iPhones, have entered the fray and are now reportedly competing to serve orders from the MacBook company, Apple, when the newest MacBook iteration goes into production. Apple is said to be making the new MacBooks starting in 2016, much thinner with a new screen hinge design. And the new hinges will be produced by the same hinge maker for Microsoft's Surface Pro, Amphenol.
It is then expected that Apple will release this new design in the 2016 MacBook, expected some time in the second half of the year. The new MacBook shall sport the new hinge design called metal injection molding-made (MIM).
The MIM process is utilized in making ultra-small metal pieces that Apple uses for the Apple Watch as well as its iPhones. By using this technology on their next batch of MacBooks, Apple hopes to create a slimmer product.

It is Apple's usual practice to upgrade its products annually, and it usually does its unveilings at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event every June. The MacBook models expected to come out earlier than the rest may be built with Intel Skylake processors while others may sport the Thunderbolt 3 with a USB Type-C port. There may also be color options for a rose gold MacBook as well as choice for screen size of either 13 or 15 inches.
There has also been mention of a new version of the MacBook, a 12-inch model in the OS X Server. And whether Apple will give its new line a different name or stick with MacBook Air has not been reported. And it remains to be seen whether Apple shall top HP's newly released Spectre, which has claimed the title of the thinnest laptop in the world.
Apple has not given official word regarding the redesign or release of its newest iteration, but MacBook fans are looking forward to June's WWDC for any word on this.
