MacBook 2017 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Will Apple Launch a New 12-inch MacBook This Summer?
Apple released the 2016 iteration of the 12-inch MacBook laptop back in April 2016, and after almost a year, many Apple fans and tech enthusiasts are expecting that another MacBook model will be released this year. With the public's growing anticipation over the arrival of the 2017 MacBook, various rumors and predictions have surfaced about the device's possible specs, features, price and release date.
With the polarizing feedback from Apple users about the current 12-inch MacBook, the upcoming updated version of the device is expected to arrive with notable upgrades and improvements. Though there are predictions that the MacBook 2017's design will be similar to its 2015 and 2016 variants, the gadget's true upgrades will more likely be in the machine's internals.
According to a report by The Inquisitr, the rumored MacBook 2017 will come with a new processor, n improved RAM, and even longer battery life.
For its processor, speculations suggest that the next MacBook variant would feature Intel's recently launched 7th-generation Kaby Lake processors. This means the device would perform significantly better compared to its predecessors.
As for the MacBook 2017's memory, rumors are rife that the RAM of the 12-inch laptop will be upgraded to 16 GB. Apple's last two MacBook iterations featured 8 GB of memory, so raising the 2017 model's memory is reportedly a logical move in order to boost the laptop's Intel M-series processor.
There are also speculations that the 12-inch MacBook 2017 model would feature LTE connectivity. Another persistent rumor is the introduction of a Force Touch keyboard to the forthcoming device.
On when the MacBook 2017 will be released, Macworld predicts that Apple will quietly launch the new MacBook sometime in the summer, either in June or July. This timeline is plausible because of Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's prediction that the 12-inch MacBook could go into production as early as the second quarter of 2017.
As for the device's price, there is a possibility that Apple will reduce the price of the MacBook 2017 should the company discontinue production of its MacBook Air line. However, until an official announcement is made, it is safe to assume that the pricing of the upcoming laptop model will be similar to its predecessors.
Apple has yet to make an official announcement detailing the specs, features, price and release date of the MacBook 2017. Hence, all rumors relating to the device should be taken with a grain of salt.
