Speculations about the MacBook Pro 2016 started emerging last year, but none have been confirmed so far. The most recent talks about the upcoming Apple computer suggest that the device could be solar-powered and could run on the latest Intel Skylake chips, according to reports.
Based on an Apple patent that was spotted recently, the Cupertino-based tech giant could be eyeing a solar-powered MacBook Air 2016. Rumor has it that the firm is also working on a 12-inch model to add to the 13-inch and 15-inch variants of the device, the report relays.

The current MacBook line uses the 14-nm Broadwell-Y Core M processors, so it is thought that the next models will be equipped with the 14-nm core m5/m7 chips that can deliver better performance. There are also those who speculate that the MacBook Pro 2016 will come with A10X chips, the report details.
Another rumor running in the mill is about improved battery and security features for the MacBook Air 2016. The upcoming device will reportedly have the Touch ID feature incorporated in its trackpad. Plus, the new laptop could come with biometric scanning feature to be used in Apple Pay transactions.
Other features speculated to be seen in the MacBook Air 2016 include a headphone jack, HDMI and VGA port, DisplayPort 1.2, USB-Type C port, and a USB 3.1.
There are rumors saying the MacBook Air 2016 will be released in March, despite no official announcement from Apple. The talks about the earlier release date stemmed from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's statement in December 2015 about an upcoming event wherein Apple will unveil its new set of devices. As of now, there is still no confirmed release date for the MacBook Air 2016. Apple is expected to unveil the device during the Worldwide Developers Conference this June.
