MacBook Air 2015 With Retina Display Release Date News: Rumors Claim February Launch
The new ultra-thin MacBook Air with Retina display is said to be getting its official launch on the first quarter of 2015 if rumors prove right.
Apple's new MacBook Air with new Retina display features and a 12-inch screen design is set to be released to the public anytime between February to April, reports say. Speculations abound over the new MacBook's specs and features, as well as its price point and availability in the market.
Images of the new ultra-thin Retina MacBook Air have surfaced online, accompanied by concept illustrations provided by tech artists predicting what the product may look like when it finally sees the light of day.
There are hints this next generation MacBook may be released as early as Feb. 24, however, the date remains conjecture at this point, as only updates to existing models are confirmed to be made available at this time.
Photos have also been leaked online showing the new design of the 2015 12-inch MacBook Air, and while the images' authenticity have yet to be verified, there are suggestions this new model will include a faster Intel processor with new memory options and storage features. It will also be utilizing the lightning speed 14-nanometer Broadwell chipset – dubbed the Core M - that was first unveiled at CES last month.
Reports have emerged that Apple has ceased restocking their other MacBook Air configurations, and has told their US partners to begin making public hints on the new arrival. It has also advised resellers to have free reign on price reductions for older models as a way of selling off their inventory – a primary indication the multinational consumer electronics giant plans to ship new units for the market.
The rumored Feb. 24 Retina MacBook Air launch, if it does occur on that significant day, will mark the 60th birthday of Apple co-founder and CEO, Steve Jobs.
