MacBook Pro 2012 Release Specs Revealed as Apple WWDC 2012 Opens
Apple has opened its Worldwide Developers Conference 2012 June 11, and it is believed that the company will reveal its upgrades to its MacBook Pro laptops, as well as its MacPro desktops.
Apple is expected to announce upgrades to its MacBook Pro laptops at the event, with two versions expected, according to 9to5 Mac. The first reportedly will be similar to the current model, but will have improved specs – it will come in 13-inch and 15-inch versions.
The second, however, will feature a new Retina display, as featured on Apple's third generation new iPad, and will only come in 15-inch. Of the two 13-inch models, one will have a 2.5GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive. The other will have a 2.9GHz dual core processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 750GB hard drive.

It has also been reported that the 15-inch version will feature at 2.6GHz quad-core processor, 8 GB of RAM, a 750GB hard drive, with BTO upgrades to 2.7GHz quad core and 1TB hard drives also available.
Apple is also expected to retire its 17-inch MacBook Pro model at the WWDC 2012, as the model only accounted for 1.7 percent of the company's notebook sales in Q1 of 2012.
In other news it has also been reported that an updated MacPro will come in three new configurations; two standard models as well as a server model. The upgrades will be the first desktop upgrade for Apple in nearly two years.
One standard model will reportedly have specs of a 3.2GHz quad-core processor, 6GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive and the ATI Radeon 5770 graphics chip. The second standard model will include a 2.4GHz 12-core processor and 12 GB of RAM with the same hard drive and graphics chip as the other model.
The more powerful server model will feature a 3.2GHz quad-core processor, 8 GB of RAM and two 1TB hard drives.
The WWDC 2012 commenced on June 11 and will continue until June 15.
