MacBook Pro 2016 News: All the Latest on the Release Date and Specs
Apple is reportedly going to introduce new devices at a March event, including a new iteration of its popular laptop, the MacBook Pro. Although not officially confirmed, both the event and the device are expected to arrive soon. Here's a look at what pundits expect the MacBook Pro 2016 will be like.
MacBook Pro 2016 design
Design-wise, Apple's upcoming MacBook Pro is not expected to vary so much from its predecessor. The 12-inch MacBook Pro 2015 weighs 2 lbs. and is only 13.1 mm, which makes it thinner than the latest MacBook Air. Rumors even say that because of this, Apple will be phasing out the latter. Reports also say the MacBook Pro 2016 will come in silver, gold, and space gray variants.
MacBook Pro 2016 specifications
The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to feature Retina Display. As a refresher, last year's Macbook Pro with Retina Display provides 2,304 x 1,440 pixels resolution.
Another rumor claims the Apple device might include a touch screen display. However, although industry experts believe this feature to inevitably arrive to the MacBook line, they're not fully convinced it will arrive with the upcoming MacBook Pro. They believe the touch screen display is not really needed at the moment and including the feature will only result in a sudden and significant increase in price.
There are also rumors saying the upcoming Apple laptop will be powered by a Skylake Core M processor, although not all industry observers are convinced that the new chip will arrive so soon. If true, however, the new Intel processor will provide the MacBook Pro 2016 with 10 to 20 percent faster performance, 10 hours of battery life, and improved graphics and as much as 40 percent faster graphics performance.
MacBook Pro 2016 release date and price
As already mentioned earlier in this article, the MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be unveiled in an Apple event next month and will go on sale in the second quarter of 2016. However, not all are convinced of this. According to separate rumors, Apple will launch the new laptop, along with a new MacBook Air, at a WWDC event in June 2016. If this happens, it is expected that Apple will start selling the laptops in the third quarter of this year.
Prices are expected to start at $1,299 up to $1,599.
