Macbook Pro 2016 release rumored to be on September 9
The MacBook Pro 2016 will reportedly be released on Sept. 9, along with the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
As rumors of the MacBook Pro 2016's release date spread, the previous MacBook Pros have been selling on discounted prices online. Best Buy has chopped $150 off the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook 2015, while Adorama and B&H Photo have offered significant discounts for the MacBook Pro 2014, according to Yibada.
B&H Photo has slashed off $600 from the sale price of the 15-inch MacBook Pro 2014 for the 16 GB variant, the report adds.
Since other models of the MacBook Air and 2015 MacBooks were given discounts, there have been speculations that a new device will be released soon. So far, Best Buy's $150 discount for the MacBook Air 2015 is the greatest deal online.
While there were reports about the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 2016's release date on Sept. 9 during Apple's event, there were also rumors that the release of the two devices will be postponed next year to give the limelight to the iPad Pro, Latinos Post reports.
The online discounts on MacBook purchases suggest that Apple and other retailers are trying to get rid of the older MacBook devices to make space for a newer one, the report details.
The MacBook Air 2016 will reportedly be thinner and will have 13-inch and 15-inch variants running on the Intel Skylake-U chipset and OS X El Capitan. It will also sport a Type-C USB port and a more powerful battery. The laptops will probably feature the Force Touch technology. While the MacBook Pro 2016 will most likely have the same specs, it is expected to boast of an improved RAM.
The features of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 2016 have yet to be confirmed by Apple. The reported launch dates of the Apple devices are also still unconfirmed.
