MacBook Pro 2017 Release Date, Specs Rumors: 2017 MacBook Pro to Feature Improved Battery Life; Production Starts Q3

Tech enthusiasts may not have to wait for too long before the 2017 MacBook Pro arrives. Following the generally unfavorable reviews received by the 2016 MacBook Pro, Apple is expected to march forward with changes for the 2017 edition.

Just like the 2016 MacBook Pro, the 2017 MacBook Pro will have models with a Touch Bar and those without. Also, it will keep a slim design. However, the 2017 version will come in more different colors as it adds gold and rose to its color options.

One of the common complaints about the 2016 version is its poor battery life. Compared with the previous version, the 2017 refresh will feature improved battery life as it sports Intel Kaby Lake processors. The said processors are more power-efficient as they can provide up to 9.5 hours of 4K video playback.

When it comes to hardware, there is a good chance that the 2017 MacBook Pro will have almost the same specs as its 2016 counterpart, except that it will have more random-access memory (RAM). The 2017 MacBook Pro will sport 8 GB and 16 GB RAM options but will add in support for 32 GB of RAM. This is a good development for the device, considering the complaints of professional users about the 2016 MacBook Pro, which did not offer a 32 GB option.

This year's version will also feature four USB Type-C ports and a Kaby Lake-integrated graphics processing unit (GPU) on the 13-inch and the AMD Radeon Pro GPU on the 15-inch. The 2017 MacBook Pro will also come in 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB solid state drive (SSD) options.

As of now, Apple has not yet announced when the 2017 MacBook Pro will be released. However, a recent report about the release of the highly anticipated portable computer claims that Apple will start production of the 2017 MacBook Pro in the third quarter of this year, which falls sometime in July.
