MacOS High Sierra Update Problem: Delay In Receiving iMessages Reported
After Apple released the macOS High Sierra update in late September, but several users claimed that the tech giant's latest operating system brings a major problem in the messaging function of their Mac computers.
Apple Insider spotted a number of reports posted on Apple's support forums where users revealed that they were experiencing significant delays in receiving communications in their iMessage app.
The complaints began as early as the last week of September when one user claimed to receive messages on the Mac had been very delayed. "They will show up on my iPhone, but without a notification so I can't see or hear it. Then several minutes later it will pop up on the Mac," the user claimed.

Another one mentioned that the arrival of the messages can be erratic at times. One moment, the messages came right at the same time as the one received by his iPhone. But after testing it for a few minutes, the messages that the iPhone received will arrive without a notification. Then around 20 minutes later, the same message will arrive on the Mac also without any notification update.
Other users that posted on the forums claimed that they discovered several temporary fixes to the problems like disabling and re-enabling the messages. Others claimed that it can be fixed by sending a message through their Mac units. However, the problems seemed to return after a while. This made some users want to downgrade to older versions of Apple operating systems to avoid the problems.
While the Cupertino-based tech firm has yet to address the issue, MacRumors reported the speculation that the bug on the iMessage app might have something to do with the functions of the messaging feature.
According to the report, Apple is currently working to incorporate the iCloud syncing to the messaging app in both the new macOS High Sierra and the iOS 11 mobile operating system. However, the new feature might be introduced by the tech giant sometime later this fall.
