'Mad Men' Season 7 Spoilers: Don and Sylvia to Reunite, Peggy Loses Patience at Work
"Mad Men" season seven returns to AMC with a brand new episode entitled "Field Trip" this Sunday, with fans anxious to see what is next for Don Draper.
Don, portrayed by Jon Hamm, is still suffering from the loss of his job and his shaky marriage. Although the show's creator, Matthew Weiner, insists that "Mad Men" cast and crew members sign a confidentiality waiver, some spoilers about season seven have leaked online.
In the promo for this week's installment, Peggy appears frustrated while pitching an idea.
"It's already done, will you just look at it," she asks, clearly annoyed.
Also in the clip for this week's episode, Don is eagerly trying to get in touch with someone with phone calls and flowers. Last week, Don's daughter Sally offered him the sage advice to tell his wife Megan that he does not want to move to California. Consequently, Don could be trying to reconnect with his wife and stabilize his rocky second marriage.
However, other reports indicate that the person Don is on the phone with could be Sylvia Rosen (Linda Cardellini). Previously released spoilers confirmed that Cardellini would be reprising her role as Don's mistress in the final season, but it is not yet known when she will reappear.
Meanwhile, speculation surrounding Megan Draper started at the end of season six when she appeared to be losing interest in her marriage. This year, Megan's acting career will "heat up," according to TV Guide. The spoiler indicated that Mrs. Draper will grow increasingly independent, but little is known about how her relationship with Don will turn out.
The seventh and final season of "Mad Men" will air in two parts, with seven episodes this year and seven airing next spring. This week, Weiner cryptically spoke about the conclusion of the hit series.
"I love the fact that people speculate about what's going to happen," Weiner told Vanity Fair. "But what's going to happen on the show, it's very minor on some level compared to what is actually happening on the show."
"Mad Men" fans are expecially anxious for the finale of the television series, since rumors suggest a complete character development of Don.
"I do have a different idea for the end of the series, but I'll tell you, now that I'm at the bottom of the mountain looking up there, I have thought, 'Wow, you idiot! You could have walked away from there.' But it's an honor to have a challenge like this," Weiner said.
"Mad Men" airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on AMC. The synopsis for "Field Trip" is as follows: "Don takes an impromptu trip; Betty has lunch with a friend; Harry lobbies for a cause; the partners consider a questionable asset."
