'Madam Secretary' News: Season 1, Episode 8 Recap, Episode 9 Plot

In the last episode of "Madam Secretary," Elizabeth brought Alison to India, her first state trip abroad, and she had to deal with a major crisis when an earthquake hit that caused an explosion of an American-owned factory, and upon coming home, she learns that her husband Henry has been reactivated for a mission for the NSA.

On Sunday's episode titled "Need to Know," Henry continues working for the NSA as he greets Klaus at an art opening. Klaus greets him and says that he's surprised to see him at an event like this, and Henry says that he's doing research on a new book.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth deals with a General who hijacked a plane carrying the Prime Minister of Moldova and Jim, one of Elizabeth's former CIA colleagues that she assigned to assist the Prime Minister. She calls the General on the pretense that she is open to negotiations, but she had a plan as she had a Seal Team infiltrate his air base to rescue the Prime Minister and Jim.

Then, Elizabeth talks to her CIA friends about Vincent Marsh's death and says that she believes that George was murdered. They told her that George was famously paranoid, but also admitted that something was not quite right with the way he died. Later, Isabelle tells Elizabeth that George sent her an envelope on the day he was killed. The envelope contained a $5 bill and a one-word message on it that says "Tamerline."

Here is the synopsis for next week's episode of "Madam Secretary" titled "So it Goes":
