Madonna News: Fan Stripped of Clothes by the Singer in Her Concert Says Nothing Wrong With Madonna's Act
Josephine Georgiou, the girl whom Madonna stripped half-naked during her recent concert in Brisbane, defends the Queen of Pop, saying that the singer did it for fun and without bad intentions.
The 17-year old Georgiou said that the incident at Madonna's "Rebel Heart" concert tour, wherein her breasts were exposed to thousands of other concertgoers, was no big deal, and people should stop portraying Madonna as a villain.
"Only I get to decide if I'm humiliated or not—why would people assume I am humiliated by my own breast, nipple or body… I didn't realize my boob was such a big deal—it was nothing to me," said Georgiou, who is also a Golden Coast model and an aspiring actress.
Georgiou was garbed in her mother's leather corset-style top when she attended the concert. Before the act that got her embroiled in the controversy that she is currently in, she disclosed that she was already having a wardrobe malfunction. To further defend Madonna, Georgiou said the reason why she looked surprised after Madonna's act was simply because she couldn't believe that she was standing side by side with her idol.
"Mom has been playing her (Madonna) since I was little, I idolized her in the Hung Up video clip," she said.
Joining Georgiou in her attempt to clear the Queen of Pop off the hook is her mother, Tina.
"It is quite serious that she's a minor – people are saying what if this was a male performer, what if it was some else's daughter – well it wasn't another man and it wasn't another girl it was Madonna and my daughter," she said.
Georgiou's mother expressed that while she does condone any incident of that sort, what transpired at the concert is a unique situation. She added that what happened was her daughter's business and unique experience that did not upset her.
"It's something that she'll probably cherish for the rest of her life," the she said.
