Ma$e Announces New Album Title, Project Inspired by Jay-Z, 2pac and Notorious B.I.G.
Rapper and Pastor Ma$e took to his Twitter account this week to announce the title of his new album.
"#NOWWEEVEN is the album title… Lets make it happen,!!!," he tweeted on Friday.
The former Bad Boy Records star did not reveal any information on a release date, but did discuss the albums and other material that were currently inspiring his creativity.
"Right now I'm listening to all my early freestyles & songs… This got to be something special. A couple free shows $ visits," tweeted Ma$e. "I'm listening also to Life After Death, All Eyes On Me and Reasonable Doubt… Just so u know what I'm thinking."
Ma$e rose to stardom in the late 1990s after signing with Sean "Diddy" Combs' Bad Boy Records and releasing a slew of hit singles with his boss and the late Notorious B.I.G.
His debut album Harlem World was released in 1997 and went on to sell over 4 million copies. It spawned hits such as "Feel So Good," "Lookin at Me" and "What You Want."
The rapper's second album Double Up was released in 1999 and did not attain the rapper the same amount of success as his debut. During the album's promotional cycle he announced that he would leave the music business to pursue his calling from God.
Ma$e moved to Atlanta to study to become a Pastor. But despite his new found calling, he made a return to hip-hop in 2004 with Welcome Back. This time he took a different approach to his records, removing the curses and sexual content. The album sold over 500,000 copies.
Shortly after releasing Welcome Back, Ma$e aligned himself in a deal with 50 Cent and G-Unit records that ended up being thwarted by his former boss Sean "Diddy" Combs. He once again left the industry only to return again in 2009.
He has appeared on various recent projects including Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music Imprint's compilation album Cruel Summer and 2Chainz B.O.A.T.S. 2 Me Time.
