Rapper Mason Betha said lies have been told concerning him amid speculation that he reportedly engaged in an altercation with popular New York City radio personality Charlamagne Tha God recently.

Charlamagne has publicly declared that the rapper known as Ma$e is a hypocrite for leaving the pulpit to make music that many have been shocked to hear come from a minister. When the entertainers were both in attendance at the REVOLT Music Conference in Miami,Fla., recently reports surfaced that Ma$e pushed Charlamagne before the radio personality's security stepped in.

While on-air later, Charlamagne told radio listeners that he was able to have a conversation with the rapper who could possibly appear on his syndicated radio show, "The Breakfast Club" to explain his side of the story. Still, Charlamagne took to Twitter to explain rumors.

"FYI no rapper turned pastor turned rapper again pushed me," he tweeted. "He did run up and he got pushed and then we prayed together."

Mase later took to his own social media, to comment amid speculation.

"Sometimes all u can do is laugh... #NWE #NYC #DONTTELLMEYOUHATINGTOO #GODBLESSYOU I will speak when there is an unbias platform to do so," (SIC) he wrote on Instagram. "#YouShutUp Everybody done heard all of y'all lies and theories. People want to hear from me on my side. Not anyone else."

Although Mase founded El Elyon International Church and Mason Betha Ministries, it seems discussing church relations when he is promoting his hip-hop music is not his favorite thing to do. While promoting his new song "Nothing" and upcoming album "Now We Even" earlier this year, Betha refused to talk about church business and chastised DJ Konan for bringing the subject up.

"Actually the interview right now is about music ... It's time for us as Black people to realize that we can do more than one thing," Betha previously told 92 Q Jams."I think to put someone in a box is somewhat narrow-minded."

Betha went on to let his interviewer know that there were only a certain type of people that resorted to that line of questioning. While the preacher and rapper did not say he would never speak about church, it seemed he would only do so under certain circumstances.

"If they want to talk about church, they have to come to church and if they want to talk about music, we're on the air for music and nothing else," Betha told 92 Q Jams.
