'Mafia 3' Coming in October, New Trailer Launched

Upcoming action-adventure game "Mafia 3" will be hitting store shelves soon and fans who have been looking forward to play it will only have to wait a few months. As detailed in a report by Polygon, 2K Games announced that the game will launch on Oct. 7 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.

Aside from the release date announcement, Engadget reported that a new trailer has been released as well to give fans a glimpse of what to expect in the game developed by Hangar 13. It's a new story trailer titled "One Way Road" and it teases that the game will take place in the late 1960's era in the fictitious city of New Bordeaux, a place that is loosely inspired by New Orleans. It follows the story of the protagonist named Lincoln Clay, a mixed-race Vietnam veteran who returned from war and found out that his surrogate family, the black mob, have been wiped out by the Italian mafia.

Clay will be out to seek for revenge and a lot of that was shown in the trailer. With "Son of a Preacher Man" playing in the background, the teaser revealed the story plot, the brutal actions, the gun shooting, the killing and a whole lot more. There were also some gameplay footages but it was mostly composed of story cut-scenes. Players of the game will need to bring down Clay's enemies while at the same time building up an empire of their own.

As noted in Game Spot, those who pre-order the game will be getting the "Family Kick-Back," which comes with three "exclusive" weapons and vehicles. It is designed with the "lieutenant" theme in mind but more than that, nothing much is known yet. There will be three editions available and it include the standard release and the two special editions which will give buyers the additional unreleased premium downloadable content.
