'Major Crimes' Season 5 Episode 16 Spoilers: Amy Takes on Her Trickiest Case Yet
Amy Sykes (Kearran Giovanni) will face off with Mark Hickman (Jason Gedrick) again in the upcoming episode of "Major Crimes."
In the episode titled "Quid Pro Quo," the synopsis (according to TV Guide) reveals that the detective will find herself in a tight situation when her old nemesis returns to continue their fight. Sykes will reportedly lead the investigation on a murder case. In court, she will come face to face with the defense's attorney, Linda Rothman (Jeri Ryan). What Sykes does not know is that Rothman is in cahoots with Hickman.
In court, Sykes will realize Rothman's true motive. The attorney is set to destroy her reputation following Hickman's order.
Series creator James Duff recently discussed the said storyline with Parade. According to him, the episode will see Sykes struggling with the repercussion of Hickman's attack. She must clear her name and get her credibility back no matter what it takes. The detective is also determined to win the case for the family of the murder victim. Hickman is wrong if he thinks she will give up just like that.
"As he prophesized, Amy (Kearran Giovanni) is going to be on the stand and she is going to look up and find him sitting at a table next to a defense attorney, and she is going to find herself suddenly discredited during a trial. Their relationship is back front and center as she tries to undo the damage, get to the truth and figure out Mark Hickman," the EP teased Parade.
Meanwhile, episode 17 is going to feature a huge storyline for Dr. Morales (Jonathan Del Arco). His father, a retired detective from Uruguay, will come to visit him. Morales will try to impress his old man by doing his best in a murder investigation. The deputy medical examiner has the support of his colleagues on this. They know how important the situation is for Morales.
