Maks Chmerkoviskiy Snaps on 'DWTS'
“Dancing with the Stars” Maks Chmerkoviskiy defends his outburst on last night’s performance episode.
Judge Len Goodmam told Chmerkoviskiy and his partner, Hope Solo, that their Rumba was the “worst dance of the season.”
Chmerkoviskiy angrily responded that the judges’ criterion is "unfair", and that their remarks were “disrespectful.” He defended his explosion to co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet.
“With all due respect, this is my show, I help make it what it is,” said Chmerkoviskiy after receiving one of the lowest scores of the night, 20.
Broadway Week of the competition proved to be a challenging task for Chaz Bono, who performed the tango Monday night with Lacey Schwimmer. The duo received 19 points from the judges’ panel, which put them in the bottom and in jeopardy of elimination Tuesday.
The performance show also revealed that stars J.R. Martinez and Ricki Lake are the strongest contenders by earning a score of 29 out of 30 from the judges.
Nancy Grace surprised the audience with her dancing partner, Tristan MacManus, earning 24 points for their Foxtrot, named a “showstopper” by Judge Carrie Ann.
The most popular contestants on Twitter, reality television star Rob Kardashian and partner Cheryl Burke, earned 22 points.
In the grand tradition of Broadway, the 7 remaining stars took to the dance floor for their first group dance to “Big Spender” and “Money Money.” The performance will help fans decide who goes home next.
The “Dancing with the Stars” results show will announce the sixth couple to be eliminated and it will feature performances by Kristin Chenoweth, Martina McBride, and Corbin Bleu.
“Dancing with the Stars” airs at 9 p.m. EST Tuesday on ABC.
