Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd Dating News: Rumors Emerge Couple Back Together Again

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd may be giving their relationship another try. The "Dancing with the Stars" pros, who dated for 10 months in 2012 and 2013, have been quietly rekindling their romance.

The two were seen arm in arm while walking in New York City last Tuesday, according to Us Weekly sources. Chmerkovskiy was dressed from head to toe in black and covered up with a grey coat and scarf, while Murgatroyd wore a fur trimmed beige coat over her white top, dark pants, and white ankle booties.

"They've been spending time together," said one source to Us Weekly. "I wouldn't say they're back together. But they're definitely spending time together."

Another source tells the website, "Peta was wary at first since they fought so much and ended on such a bad note the last time. But he has been working hard to really be a good guy to her and show her that he's changed."

Following their split, Chmerkovskiy dated model Kate Upton for six months. He was also briefly linked to Jennifer Lopez. On season 18 of "Dancing with the Stars," he was linked to his dance partner, Meryl Davis. The two went on to win the Mirror Ball Trophy, and to this day, fans of the pair are hoping that the two are dating, though both have repeatedly said that they're just friends.

Murgatroyd is said to have been with Chmerkovskiy when he celebrated his birthday, and she took to Instagram on Jan. 16 to post a picture of Chmerkovskiy blowing out a candle on his dessert and captioned it, "The brightest."

One source tells People that the pair never really broke up.

"They're with each other a lot and have been for quite some time, including all last season. Tommy [Chong] would tease [Peta] about it," the insider said.

Reps for Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy have not commented on the relationship.
