'Man of Steel 2' news, cast, spoilers: Sequel will push through
2016 will be DC's year to finally set its cinematic universe. Its slow development in the past years has definitely kept it significantly behind compared to Marvel. The poor reception that the multiple attempted reboot of "Superman" has been one of the main setbacks of DC in the past years. However, it seems that all will change with the release of "Batman v Superman."
With every DC fan's fantasy of seeing the caped crusader and the blue boy scout face off and team up, it can spell good news if DC decides to push through with the planned sequel for "Man of Steel 2." According to Heroic Hollywood, there are already a couple of developments for the sequel, although a release date is still quite far into the future, without even a year set. If rumors are to be believed, Brainiac would be the main villain of the story line in the second installment. He will also be responsible for the existence of Bizarro from the incomplete Kryptonian records. It is said that he was created to steal the Codex from Kara Zor-El and Kal-El. Speaking of Kara Zor-El, it seems that Supergirl has been initially intended to be introduced this time around, as the film is targeting to focus on her and Superman.
For the production of the film, a director is apparently presenting himself to take on the challenge. George Miller wants to have a shot at directing the film; however, it will still be up to Warner Bros. at the end of the day if they will let him take charge. Furthermore, production will more likely start in the next few years. With the lineup of movies until 2018, it's more likely that the release will be around 2019 or 2020.
With such a distant release date, there are still a number of things that can change as it's certain that nothing is set in stone. For now, DC is obviously focusing on the release of its upcoming movies in 2016 such as "Suicide Squad," and of course, Batman v Superman.
