Man Sues Cat Owner: Plaintiff Seeks $100,000 for Feline's 'Vicious Attack'
An Illinois man has filed a lawsuit against a woman whose cat he claims viciously attacked him. Questions have been raised, however, behind the couple's relationship.
William Baxter has filed a lawsuit in Homer Glenn, Ill. against a woman who appears to be his wife. Baxter accused the woman, Christine Bobak, of not exerting caution with her cat. Baxter agreed to housesit the cat on April 22, 2011 and claims in the lawsuit that he was attacked when trying to feed the feline.
The cat "viciously attacked, bit and clawed" the victim, a copy of the lawsuit obtained by The Sun Times, stated.

Baxter filed a lawsuit in March and is seeking a total of $100,000. In the lawsuit Baxter adds that Bobak should have been aware of the cat's vicious nature because it had previously attacked another person. The documents also site that both individuals were living separately at the time.
But according to Facebook profiles for both Baxter and Bobak, it appears that the couple is married and likely has two children. A profile under the name of "Billy Baxter" reveals that he is in a relationship with "Chrissy Baxter." The link redirects to a Facebook profile for "Chrissy Baxter" who is named in parentheses as "Christine 'Bobak' Baxter.
Based on the profiles, both individuals live in Homer Glenn and graduated from the same high school: Baxter graduated in 1998, Bobak two years later. Profile pictures also reveal the two together. In Bobak's photos, she has even posted several profile pictures of herself, a baby, and a younger girl.
No official link between the story and the Facebook profiles can be made, however.
William Baxter's Chicago attorney, Michael Shammas, declined to comment on the case.
"That's not something I really want to get into and talk about," Shammas told The Times. "I'd rather keep it in the courthouse."
