Manny Pacquiao Says Ronda Rousey Could Beat Floyd Mayweather in an MMA Match
Manny Pacquiao recently expounded on his belief that MMA champion Ronda Rousey could easily beat Floyd Mayweather in the Octagon.
Manny Pacquiao was interviewed by His & Hers recently where he said he believed number one UFC women's bantamweight mixed martial artist, Ronda Rousey could win a fight over undefeated pound-for-pound boxing champ, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in an MMA bout.
"I believe so. She's strong. She's strong enough to beat Floyd Mayweather in MMA," Pacquiao declared during the interview.
According to the Filipino fighter, Rousey is better equipped to face Mayweather, a fact Rousey agreed with, revealing she has devised her own battle plan for the possibility of facing the Money Mayweather in the Octagon.
Pacquiao is set to face Mayweather in the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on May 2 for their much anticipated mega fight nearly six years in the making. Dubbed as the richest fight in boxing history, both fighters will be sharing 60/40 on a $200 million pot with undefeated Mayweather receiving a bigger cut of the pie.
It is reported Rousey has been granted tickets to the expensive match courtesy of Top Rank promoter, Bob Arum.
In late February, Pacquiao sent a video message to Rousey wishing her luck in her fight against world's number three UFC female fighter, Cat Zingano, at the UFC 184 at Los Angeles' Staples Center. Rousey won in 14 seconds.
In an interview before the fight, Rousey expressed her desire to watch the Pacquiao-Mayweather bout, making it her goal to win her face-off with Zingano to be able to afford one of the pricey May 2 tickets, the least expensive of which reportedly costs $4,000. Top Rank's Arum responded by promising her a free ticket to the match.
