March Madness 2017 Bracket Selection, No. 1 Seed, NCAA Tournament Seedings Announced (First Four, Round 1 Start Date)

NCAA March Madness 2017 Selection Sunday takes place today, which will see the full field of 68 NCAA Tournament teams announced along with the complete bracket. The NCAA March Madness 2017 basketball tournament's Selection Sunday has a start time of 5.30 p.m. ET, and can be watched on TV on the CBS network or online through free live stream (details below).

All Conference tournaments will have been completed by Sunday late afternoon, and that means the selection committee will be able to analyze each team's credentials to assign seedings and places for this year's March Madness.

UCLA, Villanova and Kansas have all had excellent seasons this year, and it would be surprising if they were not all assigned No. 1 seed placements for this year's bracket.

Some have been touting Gonzaga to take a No. 1 seed this season. They ended the regular season ranked No. 4 in the AT Top 25, and suffered just the solitary loss to BYU in their penultimate game of the season. But that should not detract from the fact that they piled on 32 wins this season and took the conference title. Last year they were assigned an 11 seed, but this year most are predicting they could get one of the top lines of the bracket.

However, there are a host of teams that have also had excellent seasons and will be hoping to claim a top seeding spot. Among them are Oregon, Arizona, as well as North Carolina .

Oregon recorded a 27-4 season overall, suffering losses to Baylor and Georgetown, then to Colorado and UCLA.

However, the Pac-12 was one of the most competitive conferences, and we can expect some strong teams to make it from there into this year's March Madness bracket.

Others are predicting that the Tar Heels could go as far as last season where they made it to the Final Four. Some are even touting them as potentials to go all the way and win the championship this season considering all the talent and skill in their roster this year.

After Selection Sunday, the NCAA March Madness 2017 basketball tournament actually commences on Tuesday and Wednesday with the First Four in Dayton, Ohio. The First Round proper will then start on March 16 and 17, and after a crazy schedule of dozens of games, the big championship game for March Madness 2017 will take place on April 3.

The NCAA Tournament Selection Sunday event, which will announce the bracket for March Madness 2017, can be watched from 5.30 p.m. on the CBS network, and can be watched online through free live stream on CBS Sports by clicking here or on NCAA.com by clicking here.
