Margot Robbie to Produce and Star in 'Suicide Squad' Spinoff Featuring DC Female Superheroes and Villains

It looks like fans will see more of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn as the actress is set not only to star but also produce a "Suicide Squad" spin-off movie that will feature Harley Quinn and other DC female superheroes and villains.

Based on the report of The Hollywood Reporter, the planned all DC female superhero and villains movie is a result of Robbie's awakened interest in comic books after she accepted the role of Harley Quinn in the upcoming "Suicide Squad" movie. Apparently, in the process of researching about her character, Robbie was drawn in the exciting world of comic book characters, specifically the DC female superheroes and villains. Apart from reprising her Harley Quinn character, the planned movie, which has already gotten the nod of Warner Executives, will also feature Batgirl and Birds of Prey, just to name a few.

A Harley Quinn movie is totally sensible for Warner Bros. For the longest time, the character was created as a sidekick and a girlfriend of The Joker. While it is true that she is not as popular as Wonder Woman, her comic book titles and collectables have outperformed those of the Amazonian Warrior Princess recently.

There is no denying that one of the reasons why fans look forward to the upcoming "Suicide Squad" is Robbie's take on the Harley Quinn character as teased in the released blitz trailer of the movie. Many people couldn't feel amused with her one-liners and comic approach to the character.

In an interview with LA Times last month, Robbie described the relationship of her character to that of Jared Leto's Joker in "Suicide Squad." According to the actress, her character is literally mad about The Joker. Despite being mad, though, she still loves him in an unhealthy and addictive manner.
