Marie Colvin Funeral to be Held on Monday
Veteran war correspondent Marie Colvin will be reportedly laid to rest on Monday in Long Island.
Colvin, 56, who is from Long Island was killed on Feb. 22 while telling the stories of those suffering at the hands of the Assad Regime.
Colvin's body arrived in the United States early this week, due to the help of the International Committee of the Red Cross who recovered the body from Syria.

Colvin, who had experience reporting from other combat zones, was working for the Sunday Times of London, when the building she was occupying was targeted and bombed in an attack by the Syrian army.
Colvin had been a main stay at the British publication. Colvin was working with French photographer Remi Ochlik who also was killed in the attack while they were in the Baba Amr district of Homs.
Remi Ochlik's family will also get to lay him to rest as his body was also recovered and returned to his family in Paris.
Colvin grew up in Long Island and attended Oyster Bay High School. Her mother currently lives in the Long Island town of East Norwich.
Colvin's mother, Rosemarie, spoke with the Associated Press this previous week and explained that she was holding up better than before and was expecting her daughter's body to arrive in Dover, Del., before being returned to Long Island.
Rosemarie explained that she was doing "a lot better" after receiving notification that her daughter's body would rest in peace back home, according to AP.
"I really believe it all now," she told AP. "We had so many stories that were never true."
A wake will be held Saturday and Sunday at an Oyster Bay Funeral Home.
The funeral mass is set for 11 a.m. Monday at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church in Oyster Bay.
