Marie Osmond Rushed to Hospital in Las Vegas

Marie Osmond has been rushed to the hospital after suffering throat problems during one of her regular shows in Las Vegas.

The 52-year-old singer was able to avoid surgery or other drastic treatment after being diagnosed with a severe case of bronchitis on Wednesday.

Osmond has a “bad lung problem,” said her rep, Alan Nierob while speaking to TMZ, and it is unclear whether she will be able to continue performances alongside her brother Donny at the Flamingo Hotel this week.

Nierob added that Osmond underwent over two hours of testing while at the hospital on Wednesday, and the following day, the former “Donny & Marie” host took to her Twitter account relieving fans of concern.

“So the allergies went into a bronchitis (sic). Didn’t realize it until I went to hit the high notes on stage last night,” wrote Osmond.

In addition, she tweeted Thursday, “My cute hubby just made me an awesome steak on the grill. So now I’ve had protein and feeling strong.”

Osmond has been married three times, to two different men, and remarried her first husband Stephen after her divorce this year. They share a son, James, and Osmond has two biological children as well as five adopted children with her second husband.

Osmond’s children have been a source of controversy. Her daughter, Jessica, revealed that she was a lesbian in 2009, and on February 26, 2010, Osmond’s son Michael committed suicide in Los Angeles after jumping from the 18th floor of his apartment building.

Raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Osmond has spoken about her faith helping her get through family troubles.

Osmond’s religion came under fire through her son’s suicide, and the singer never released additional comments about the issue.
