Marilyn Manson Cancels 9 Concert Dates Following Stage Injury

Marilyn Manson's concert team has canceled the next nine events of the singer's "Heaven Upside Down Tour." This was after a surprising stage accident in New York, where the performer suffered injuries after stage props fell on him on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The extent of Manson's injuries has not yet been made public as of this time. His representatives, however, are rescheduling nine dates of his current tour to give time for the shock rocker's recovery, according to Rolling Stone.

"The shows from Boston, October 2 through Houston, October 14 will be rescheduled for a later date," Manson's spokesperson said.

"Manson hopes to return to the stage soon, more details on upcoming shows to follow," the rep added, suggesting that the tour might be back on track by Oct. 15, when the singer is set to perform at the Freaker's Ball in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The singer was taken to a hospital after an oversized pair of prop handguns, a part of the backdrop for his performance in New York, fell on him while he the concert was ongoing, according to The Guardian.

A video of the concert shows Manson laying hands on the prop before it crashed down on him. Some accounts claim that the singer could be trying to climb them, by the way it looked.

The rocker lay inert on the ground for several minutes before emergency respondents rushed to the backstage area. The New York concert was canceled by that point, about an hour into the gig.

"He was treated for the injury at a local hospital and will be recuperating at home in Los Angeles," a spokesperson added in the concert cancellation announcement. There has been no information on whether Manson has been discharged from the New York hospital.

Manson's current tour is an advance promotion for his tenth album, "Heaven Upside Down," set to be released this Friday, Oct. 6. Barring any further schedule adjustments, the tour is expected to carry on in Texas on Oct. 15.
