Marilyn Manson News: Singer Recovering at Home After Onstage Accident
Marilyn Manson is recuperating at home after a stage prop collapsed on him during his concert in New York City Saturday night.
While performing at the Hammerstein Ballroom over the weekend, two large gun props held together with metal scaffolding fell on Manson. Reports note that the 48-year-old was singing a cover of "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Eurhythmics. The band kept on playing until they noticed that Manson was not getting up.
Videos of the incident have been making the rounds online. The clips show Manson's bandmates and stage crew lifting the prop off him but he was still unconscious.
An eyewitness revealed Manson lay on stage for around 15 minutes before the stage crew rushed him to a hospital. The former music journalist was already treated for his injury and is now recovering in his Los Angeles home, but the extent of his injuries was not disclosed to the public.
Due to Manson's condition, his rep announced that the rock star's next nine shows for his Heaven Upside Down Tour has been canceled. "Marilyn Manson is being forced to cancel several of his October dates on his forthcoming U.S. tour," the rep said in a press release. "The shows from Boston, Oct. 2 through Houston, Oct. 14 will be rescheduled for a later date. Manson hopes to return to the stage soon, more details on upcoming shows to follow."
Manson was already three dates into his tour. He was scheduled to perform in Boston Monday night, but it has since been moved to a later date. In an Instagram post, Manson's guitarist Tyler Bates told fans that the tour has been put on hold for a while but "Manson will be back in action soon."
The musician, whose real name is Brian Warner, recently finished his 10th studio album "Heaven Upside Down," which is slated for release on Friday, Oct. 6.
