Mark Wahlberg to Justin Bieber: Pull Your Pants Up, Stop Smoking
Mark Wahlberg, the 42-year-old actor, may have some advice for 19-year-old Canadian crooner Justin Bieber.
"Justin, are you listening? Don't be so naughty," Wahlberg reportedly told British publication The Sun in a live web chat. "Be a nice boy, pull your trousers up, make your mom proud and stop smoking weed you little [expletive]."
In recent months, Bieber was reportedly kicked out of a Chicago bar for being underage and allegedly urinated in a mop bucket. Bieber has also been making headlines for his alleged reckless driving habits, aggressive behavior and marijuana use for months.
Although Wahlberg admitted that teenagers in this day and age had to endure different things than he did growing up, the actor did make it through his own struggles.
"He's a teenager living in a different day and age," Wahlberg reportedly told The Sun. "I was in prison before I got a record out and I don't think he's been to prison."
Wahlberg previously admitted to beating up a Vietnamese man when he was 16 years old, which landed him in prison. In an interview with Anderson Cooper in 2011, Wahlberg credited his time in jail for helping to turn his life around.
"Jail was definitely a wake-up call for me. I was 16 years old, I was arrested and tried as an adult," Wahlberg told Cooper. "A lot of the guys I looked up to in the neighborhood were actually there, and I had become one of them. This (was) not what I (wanted) out of my life. So I decided from that point on that I was going to turn my life around."
Wahlberg reportedly told The Sun why it was important for Bieber to turn his life around at a young age.
"He's a nice enough kid and you're going to be a teenager. But if you're being a teen in the spotlight you're going to be criticized for it," Wahlberg said. "This career can be short-lived -- you might as well be the best you can while you're doing it."
