'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite' News: Upcoming Fighting Game To Be 'Technically Easier to Pick Up and Play,' Hints Capcom

2-on-2 battles being featured in order to further simplify 'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's' gameplay

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will be bringing some significant changes to the series, particularly when it comes to gameplay, and this is being done to help lure in a larger fan base for the upcoming fighting game.

Speaking recently to GamesIndustry.biz, Capcom Europe COO Stuart Turner talked about the plan for the newest installment of the series.

According to Turner, "Infinite" will provide a "great introduction" to the fighting game genre, especially to those gamers who may not have had a lot of interest in this type of title previously.

Turner added that the game is being designed to be "far more simplistic" and that it should also be "technically easier to pick up and play."

Combine all that with the easily recognizable Marvel characters who will be featured in this upcoming game, and Turner hints that "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" should possess a "huge appeal" that could be capable of luring in younger players who may not have had an opportunity to try out an entry of the franchise before.

Developers have already hinted previously at how this next installment of the "Marvel vs. Capcom" franchise will change things up, at least in terms of gameplay.

For instance, developers have opted to emphasize 2-on-2 battles in "Infinite" and that decision was also made partly in pursuit of that goal to make the game appealing even to neophytes of the fighting game genre.

As co-producer Peter Rosas told EDGE previously, featuring 2-on-2 battles should require players to make fewer decisions leading up to a fight, and again, beginners should also benefit from this change, SegmentNext reported.

Infinity Stones are also being integrated into the game's combat system, and these too should help players feature a specific style of play that they are comfortable with.

Players should be able to try out these changes soon enough, as "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" is currently set to be released later this year.
